Your deferred benefits keep their value – we review them every year in line with an index specified by the Government. We continue to increase your pension in this way once we pay it to you. If you draw your benefits before age 55 because of permanent ill health and you are too ill to do any regular full-time job, any increases due will be paid straight away. Otherwise, if you draw your benefits before age 55 you will normally have to wait until your 55th birthday for your first review but we will then bring your pension up to the level it would have been at if we had reviewed it each year.
