Pensioners Social Group - LARN
(The Local Authority Retirement Network)
Once they've retired, many of our pensioners find that they miss the social aspect of going out to work, and the friendship and support of the colleagues they worked with over the years. LARN is a self-supporting social group run by a committee of pensioner members of Avon Pension Fund. It aims to help retired colleagues keep in touch with one another and also make some new friends.
What does the LARN group do?
The members of LARN usually meet on the 3rd Monday of the month at Broadmead Baptist Church, Union Street, Bristol, from 1.45 to 4pm, for tea and conversation. The monthly meetings normally include a guest speaker who will give a talk to the group. LARN's social activities also include coach trips for the members twice a year and a Christmas buffet.
