If you are paying into the local government pension scheme (LGPS) you will receive an Annual Pension Statement from the Avon Pension Fund by the end of August.
It shows the pension you have built up to 31 March 2023 as well as a future projection of your benefits if you remain paying into the scheme to your Normal Pension Age (NPA). This is the age you would retire and take your benefits without any reduction to your pension.
The statement will be posted out to you or you will receive an email notification to download your statement by the end of August.
Your statement will show how your pension is built up. This depends on when you joined the pension scheme. If you joined before 1 April 2014 your pension benefits will be made up of both Final Salary and Career Average Revalued Earnings (CARE) benefits (these are calculated separately and then added together). If you joined after 1 April 2014 it will just be made up of CARE benefits.
As your statement contains a lot of information the Avon Pension Fund has produced guidance notes and FAQs to help you. These are available from our Annual Pension Statement page.
It’s important that you check your statement. You must check that your pensionable pay is correct. If you believe there are inaccuracies then contact your employers’ payroll department to investigate (rather than the Avon Pension Fund).
If any other details are incorrect then contact the Avon Pension Fund by emailing them at avonpensionfund@bathnes.gov.uk
For each post you hold there is a separate record on our system. Therefore you may get more than one statement as you will receive a separate statement for each record you have with us. You may also have received a “deferred” pension statement from us earlier this year, if you held a previous job and paid into the scheme.
